Combining Ability Analysis and Marker-Based Prediction of Heterosis in Yield Reveal Prominent Heterotic Combinations from Diallel Population of Rice

Combining ability along with heterosis was elucidated in the 21 F1 hybrid population of rice derived from a 7 × diallel mating design. Furthermore, to formulate strategy for marker-based prediction heterosis, molecular genetic diversity (GD) then surveyed among seven parental lines RAPD markers. Analysis combining revealed significant GCA and SCA variances ratio between aforesaid parameter more than unity most traits signifying preponderance additive gene action. Hybrid combination Double Rice Pokkali best specific combiner pollen fertility percentage (%), panicle length (cm), filled grains/panicle (no.) grain yield/hill (g) while Muktagacha BRRI dhan29 Basmati were combiners (mm) 1000-grain weight (g), respectively. Regarding magnitude exhibited maximum heterobeltiosis (33.33%) number (144.01%). Chinigura verified producing highest tillers/hill (173.17%), as well (71.05%). The heatmap relying on exposed distance followed by Pokkali. Unweighted neighbor-joining trees clustered into three groups indicating presence considerable those genotypes. A positive correlation explored GD all revealing huge potentiality performance using markers present set individuals. Thus, exploration definite genomic regions underlying candidate genes respective such RAPD-generated data following an advanced marker approach would pave path mining out yielder heterotic combinations.
